PART EXCHANGE VEHICLE VALUATION/SELL YOUR CAR.Meanwhile, I'm going back to my old Garmin satnav, which has free map updates for life, and I've asked Land Rover (Naviextras?) to refund the extortionate £97 (£101.66 by the time it hit my credit card statement from Hungary) that I spent on this waste of time and effort. All of which makes me wonder if ANY of Land Rover's maps are actually up to date! I doubt owners of newer Discos (and other marques) are able to check the dates on the files in their satnav systems (other than by driving along the A14, perhaps) but has anyone else with an SD card looked at their files? Windows File Explorer or similar will let you do this. Land Rover eventually referred me to a page on the Naviextras website, where I could raise a request or complaint with them, but Naviextras response was to say that they are not responsible for the maps the sell (!!), so I should report the error to their supplier! This supplier turns out to be Here Maps - who are the current supplier to Land Rover of satnav maps. Once again, the app reads this card as version 2, but once again there is nothing newer than 2016 on the card. Someone up the chain at JLR found me a 'new' SD card with what they promised was the 'latest' update and the local dealership installed the card and coded it to my VIN. I have since been all around the houses with Land Rover, with them referring it upwards and sideways to various technical teams to try and find a solution. There are just a few text files that are newer - nothing to do with the actual map data. This led me to check the actual files on the SD Card, and I found that all the map files, POIs, buildings etc, were dated 2016 at the latest.

Just after this, I happened to drive along the new A14 bypass - only to find the satnav thought I was driving across fields and told me to go to the nearest road! The app tells me I do have the supposed 2022 version, but the new A14 does NOT exist in this update. Responding to an email from Land Rover in July this year, which advertised the latest 2022 maps and specifically linked through to the InControl Map Updater app for my 2017 Disco, I bought this 2022 'update'. I am interested to hear that some have managed to load the 'new' 2 July 2022 (2021 Q4) update from Naviextras and that this includes newer roads, such as the A14 Huntingdon bypass (opened May 2020) and a housing estate built 3 years ago (2019?).
